Meet the Sari behind the Blue:

Christine aka Sari

Christine aka Sari

Beautiful, simply designed jewelry to add peace, positivity and a bit of fun to your style!  There’s nothing evil about it….SariBlue.

SariBlue jewelry is designed with gorgeous handcrafted glass beads from Turkey. These handcrafted beads come directly from artisans in Turkey who have learned the craft of making these historic glass beads through generations.  The SariBlue team travels to Turkey to work with craftsmen directly for their collection. The beads are then tied together in a unique and modern way for original designs.  The line includes: earrings, bracelets, necklaces, pendants, chokers and amazing multicultural baby belly bells.

Meet Christine Lorenzo she is a passionately obsessed fashion, art, design, and jewelry maven who adores  eclectic craft and not only focuses on her own work but tends to get carried away once she discovers  other artists of any genre who are just as passionate and open to the world of art she adores.  When she is not obsessing within the realm of art she is the lucky mum to two lovely little muses who already have their own art niches.

SariBlue is a culmination Christine’s exploration of culture, history, art, life and the love of all things fantastic.  Her shop was opened this past spring and has been received across cultures with high praise.  Her love for the deep reaching cultural philosophy of the evil eye developed more than six years ago when she began traveling to Turkey on a regular basis and feel in love with its art, history, food, and of course its people.  While discovering Turkey’s many treasures Christine became aware that this new love was so strong because the culture was so similar to Italian culture.  She was raised in an Italian family focused on food, family, history, craft and love.  Once the introduction to Turkish culture and specifically the Evil Eye was made a familiar bond was formed.

When speaking with Christine she generates enthusiasm for her shop, craft and the amazing history behind its inspiration.  She will tell you that when she was introduced to the notion of evil eye and began this jewelry line it was as if the Nazar Boncuk spoke to her, the line was meant to be.

Join Christine in her love for these super cool beads that look gorgeous and have the ability to bring good luck while easing your mind’s eye.  Because the beads are so carefully crafted each one is unique giving every piece of SariBlue jewelry its own story and feel.

Her pieces are fun, colorful, very unique, a great conversation piece to any wardrobe, while adding an ancient element of protection to your life through wearing the Nazar Boncuk (Evil Eye Bead).

Christine is not only an artisan but a tremendous writer, researcher and adores world culture and history.  You will find detailed stories about her background and research about the Evil Eye on her website.

Many people are familiar with or have heard of “evil eye” but may not really understand the meaning or impact to so many societies across time.

It is a belief that a person can bring harm to you simply by looking with envy, then praising but with jealousy in their hearts.  This simple look can affect evil harm or misfortune often times unintentionally. The Evil Eye bead is meant to protect the wearer from negative forces or projected thoughts towards them in the world and the bead itself is in fact a “lucky eye.”

“There’s nothing evil about it….” It is a very simple way to let people know that SariBlue although has focus on “evil eye” the bead  wards off any negative vibe and is the antithesis of evil, nothing but goodness here.

Every piece of SariBlue jewelry has at least one Evil Eye bead to help protect the wearer from the potential negative forces out in the world.  It is believed that the wearer of Evil Eye beads will not only be protected from negative forces but also find good fortune so as SariBlue likes to say…There’s nothing evil about it…

Christine has studied Peace and Conflict Resolution in Ireland and the influence of music on culture.  Her degree is in Psychology from Clark University, Worcester, MA, USA, where she also studied world history and education.   She has worked for multinational companies establishing teams across cultures and has maintained not only excellent business relationships but has developed friendships with people throughout her life in unique industries and circumstances on almost every continent.

Christine grew up in a small town outside of Boston, MA, USA and although she has traveled to many places her favorite city still remains Boston and she adores the town in which she spent her childhood.  She feels she has a second home in Turkey thanks to her many close friends in Istanbul and Ankara.
